Assignment Overview:
This Signature Assignment fulfills the following Core Competency #5 - Critical Thinking: Evaluate a problem in a way that is clear, reasoned, reflective, and informed by evidence.
The purpose of this assignment is to demonstrate critical thinking skills by researching a problem and identifying credible evidence to support your solution to it. To do so, you will evaluate sources in a clear, reasoned, reflective, and informed manner.
Remember that careful research and evaluation of information takes considerable time, even for expert researchers!
Directions
Step 1: Locate and select two scholarly sources on your topic using the university library's online database search page. If you have trouble, please contact the UMass Global librarian, whose contact information will be displayed on that page.
Step 2: Cite the reference in proper APA format.
Step 3: Using the CRAAP Test Worksheet from Week 3, analyze and score the source (article, book chapter, etc).
Step 4: Explain how you arrived at your score (mention all of the categories) and why you would or would not use the source in your final project. Be as detailed as possible.
Step 5: Follow the same steps for the second source. (This is not an essay-the citations should be two separate discussions).
