The purpose of this assessment task is to encourage students to carry out detailed research on various critical facets of supply chain management on an organisation of their choice based on their core product/service offering. Therefore, each group needs to choose an appropriate organisation from any industry as the study objective. The selected organisation could either be private, public, government or a non-governmental type of non-for-profit organisation (emphasis on humanitarian supply chains). Please take into account that it will be difficult to obtain relevant information on private companies.

Critically discuss the service quality of this organisation and highlight a service gap that the organisation may face or is facing (Hint: SERVQUAL model).

2. Critically discuss the organisation's inventory management practices and tools employed for the select product/service. Also incorporate discussions on the role that information plays in its supply chain.

3. Next, critically discuss two supply chain risks that the organisation has faced (or is facing) and the strategies used to mitigate these risks. From your research, suggest two lessons/improvements that this organisation can learn/benefit from industry leaders.

4. Finally, from your observations and findings, suggest at least two innovations to its current supply chain strategy that will assist the organisation in becoming more competitive in the future. Bonus point if your suggestions will also and improve the environmental impact of the organisation.
