Problem: Film Comparison Paper
M. Night Shyamalan's 2004 movie The Village and Gary Ross' 1998 movie Pleasantville both depict societies where religion reinforces a set of shared communal values and ensure the reproduction of their society over time. The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate to understanding of how religions and cultural toolboxes work from a social-theory perspective and compare their depiction of how such processes work.
