Assume you were asked to estimate the effort (in person-hours) required to develop an appointment system for a private health clinic. The system is expected to enable patients to make appointments online or by phone, help the clinic staff members to manage appointments, and assist doctors to check their schedules and identify their available hours. The system will be connected to the existing patients database system as well as the clinic accounting system. Follow the Use-Case Point Estimation example in Figures 2-15 and 2-16 (pp 60-61) of the textbook to assignment.
A. Identify and explain at least 4 different actors that the system interacts with and identify the complexity level of each.
B. Identify and explain at least four use cases that the system should support and identify the complexity level of each.
C. Identify and explain at least 5 Technical Complexity factors that could affect the estimated required effort for the project.
D. Identify and explain at least 4 Environment factors that could affect the estimated required effort for the project.
E. You may use an excel sheet to do the required calculations (as shown in Figure 2-16) to estimate the required effort in "person-week" to complete the project.
F. Use the estimated effort (from step 5) to estimate the number of weeks a team of three developers need to complete the project (assume each developer works 20 hours a week).
G. What would you do to expedite the project and complete it in a shorter time?
