First, consider the conclusions you developed in Assignment 1 regarding how leadership roles have changed over the last decade. Select a specific industry as the focus of your leadership analysis, preferably one with global reach. Then prepare a paper analyzing and explaining the following components:

Part 1 (2 full pages): Given the conclusions you made in Assignment 1 regarding how leadership roles have changed, research and select two contemporary leadership theories from peer-reviewed articles that you believe align best with the industry you have chosen.

Explain first the definitions and meanings contained in each theory you have selected. Answer the question: "What do these theories really mean?"

Part 2 (2 full pages): Relate your chosen theories to the industry you have selected for analysis. First explain the current dominating features of the industry. Include both the challenges and opportunities it faces.

Then explain why you believe your chosen two leadership theories best align with the current industry dynamics. If you discover that only one leadership theory meets the alignment threshold, narrow your discussion to one theory.

Given your chosen theories, and the industry characteristics, explain how the relationship between structure, systems and people should inform the leadership equation to facilitate optimal alignment. Comment on why other theories are not aligned. Explain the leadership implications of these theories being applied in the industry.

Part 3 (2 full pages): Select a specific leader of one of the industry enterprise participants you believe best exemplifies the leadership philosophy (based on theory) you've chosen.

Explain why you believe the leader is effective. Include comments (if available) from other industry leaders in terms of what they might have said about your chosen leader.

If no industry leader exemplifies the leadership philosophy (based on theory) that you indicate best aligns with the industry and its current conditions, briefly explain the strategic implications of that leadership gap.

Support your assignment with at least three (3) scholarly resources. In addition to these specified resources, other appropriate scholarly resources, including older articles, may be included.

Your synthesis should demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the ideas and concepts presented in the course by providing new thoughts and insights relating directly to this topic. Your response should reflect scholarly writing and current APA standards.
