Examines appropriate and inappropriate forms of business

Scenario 1

Communication covers a very wide perspective in scope and nature. It is a social process of carrying an intention from one source to another that is from a transmitter to a receiver. Hence, this paper examines appropriate and inappropriate forms of business communication.

In the first scenario, Justin and Sarah had a face-to- face discussion. However, the outcome of the message confirmed that the message was not in consonance to Justin's initial idea. In the first place, he chooses an appropriate channel of communication but the receiver-Sarah could not decode the message. It was sort of muddled and confusing to her which led to multiple repetitions. Consequently, Justin chose a social media to vent his frustration. Selecting such an alternative could negatively impact his profession and hurt Sarah's feelings. Although, this option gives him temporary pleasure, it will eventually create potential harm. Instead, he should use hand written communication with clarity of purpose. However, the Administrative manager is the right personnel to handle this communication.

Scenario 2
Jana might be displeased after receiving Sean's email. She may wonder what he was thinking? The tone of the mail could be displeasing because it lack positive light and courtesy words. I think she would feel was written in the heat of the moment and therefore the tone of his words imply he was angry. The tone of the mail may be seen as having a sense of urgency and frustration. Based on the discussion, I think Sean's mail is inappropriate because it has a sarcastic tone with a potential inflammatory message.

Again, typing some words in uppercase in email messages is considered as yelling. In this instance, if I were the manager, I tell the employee not to be over critical and should not fire back rather take it as a learning curve.

Scenario 3
Generally, effective communication barrier depends on noise as a major factor. However, the lesser the noise in the message the easier and more positive the feedback. In this scenario, the office assistant reacted appropriately to Robert's request. In order to communicate effectively, the office assistant perception played a significant role. It is worthy of note that their communication problem could be traced to human perception and interpretation which in turn reflected their attitudes, emotions and experiences.
