Assessment Task: Evaluating Dementia Initiatives
Task Description
Informed by your learning in the Understanding Dementia MOOC, you are to identify an area of need within a local or global context to improve the quality of life for people with dementia and/or their carers. Undertake a search of recent initiatives (last 5 years) targeting your identified area of need (either partially or fully). Prepare a narrated (voice over) PowerPoint presentation outlining various aspects of your chosen initiative:
- The objective (What is the objective of the initiative? )
- The rationale (What is the reasoning/justification for the objective of your initiative? i.e. What 'need' is it trying to address?)
- The design (How is the initiative designed i.e. what does the initiative actually do/how is it undertaken)
- Feasibility/risk/safety (Are there any issues with feasibility or risk or safety related to the initiative? Depending on the status of the initiative, these may or may not have been identified but you may be able to identify these yourself)
- Evaluation (How is the initiative evaluated/planned to be evaluated? i.e. how will its effectiveness/impact be measured)
1) First you need to explain about the NEEDs of dementia person in which I need you to illustrate about the neccessity of recognizing pain issues associated with person with dementia and most this pain issues associated with aged related medical issues so is their pain is not under control it will reflect on their behavior. You need to prove this with evidence based proof. I request you to use academic journals with intext citation Reference should be APA style with doi.
2) You need to explain about the initiatives in 'quality end of life care for people with dement'. In this you need to talk about advance care plan, importance of making advance care plan whenthe person is cognitively fully alert. Explain about gap in quality end of life care for dementia with intext citation.
