Assessment Brief:

In the first assignment you developed the concept, theme and basic plan/run sheet of an event, in very broad terms.

Building upon the material submitted in assignment 1, this report should detail and explain (at a minimum) the following:

Revisit and elaborate upon concept (100 words):

  • Finalise the five w's
  • Explain your decision
  • The exact venue and dates etc. (ie all the 5 W's) should be known and justified.
  • EG. The wedding will be held in the out of the way "Bay of Islands" on the Great

Ocean Road in Victoria. This location is ideal, as being 3.5 hours Melbourne, but only 45 minutes from the regional centre at Warnambool it is far from the regular tourist circuit. The wedding could easily base out of Warnambool with guests staying overnight; accessing Warnambool via the vline train service.

  • Do not just copy your previous work.

Revisit and elaborate upon theme (100 words):

  • Similar to the above
  • Revisit and elaborate upon theme by finalising your theme and décor
  • Explain your decision
  • Ensure your decision takes into consideration your concept and venue
  • The student must elaborate upon the theme. Finalising and justifying factors such as mood and style, colour, décor, set dressing, menu, floral etc.
  • Embedded visual aids should be included.

Software tools (200-500 words):

The student should develop a matrix indicating how various software applications will be used in the event. How the various office tools, event specific software suites and apps will be employed to develop, map manage and/or ticket the event.

Map, diagram or floor plan

Students should include a map or floor plan mock-up of the event in the selected venue. The plan should be developed using an appropriate software tool.

Run sheet (200-500 words)

A more detailed plan or run sheet, although still not in final form

  • This run sheet should include possible times, and roles responsible for the action.
  • You might think about converting to a column structure at this time rather than the list structure shown below.
  • The run sheet should be in column form at this stage.
