Evaluation of the current and prospective approaches

Objective: Provide an analysis and evaluation of the current and prospective approaches regarding sustainable management at BP petrol stations and recommend ways of achieving further sustainable development of it.

Recommendations:

Regarding the utilizing of resources, there are three aspect should be dealt with. For the water saving aspect, change current water faucet to touchless faucets in the public restroom, and experimental shorten 3 seconds washing time for the car washing areas. Track and record data for water consumption comparison.

For the paper saving, promoting BP Me app with 20 cents discount per liter each time, reducing the usage of printed paper and ink. And replace the tissue paper with recycled cloth. Track and record data for paper cost consumption comparison.

For the electricity saving, solar energy plate and sensor light at each gas pump could be introduced so that once no vehicle is present during late nights the sensor will turn off most of the main lights to save on power. And the light quantity of public restroom could reduce from current 3 to 2.

As for the new energy, BP connect can build the electric charging pile and connect with the solar plate/panels to provide the electricity to the pile. BP connect can also use the power harnessed from the solar panels to run the station to be more clean and green. BP connect could earn more from the new energy, so in this way, it achieves the sustainability of the economic development.

For rapid refueling way, BP connect can establish the express way for the large vehicles, this can save the refueling time, and avoid a traffic jam in the BP connect.
