Evaluate why all of this is so complicated for sharon

Problem: Performance Management

1. You should not use sources from Google or Wikipedia as these sources are not peer reviewed. However, please only use sources from databases from websites including a university, government or you may use Google Scholar as well. I advise you use textbooks with journal articles from databases such as ProQuest, EBSCO, and so on.

2. Only the first letter of the first word should be capitalized if it is not a proper noun. If it is a book, then italicize the title. If it is a peer reviewed article from a journal. That journal should be italicized. The Volume comes before the issue and should be written as 37(3) followed by the pages such as 37(3), 1-3.

3. Sources in the References list should be in hanging style. Go to Paragraph in MS Word and adjust the section called Indentation to hanging.

Barney, J., Wright, P., & Patrick, M. (1998). On becoming a strategic partner: The role of human resources in gaining competitiive advantage. Human Resource Management, 37(1), 31-46.

George, J., & Jones, G. (2011). Understanding and managing organizational behavior (6th ed). Upper Saddle River, NJ: Pearson Education

1. You should capitalize the beginning of each word with four or more letters in the main heading.

2. a paragraph needs at least three sentences.

3. You should bold the main heading

4. Indent the beginning of a paragraph

5. Only use the author/s lastname/s and the year, such as: Bennett (2021)

6. You only use et al. when you are using three authors or more after you mention them once in the paper. You only use et al at the beginning with you have more than six authors

Case Study:

Sharon Brown has operated Sharon's Sweet Stuff Bakery for the past 5 years. By 5:00 a.m. every weekday morning, customers are dropping in both to enjoy the cozy smells and to purchase fresh warm donuts and other goodies to enjoy with their coffee before going to work. After 5 years of this schedule where she began baking by 3:00 a.m., Sharon is very tired.

Sharon has decided to hire an apprentice baker and a cashier to provide early morning counter help. She knows that she must stop treating her bakery as an extension of herself and begin operating a business. She has a friend with a PhD in Human Resource Management who told her to establish a performance measurement system so that she can tell whether her two new employees are good employees or not.

It all seems so complicated. Sharon has contacted the local Business School Co-op Program and asked for advice. Your professor assigned you to answer Sharon's questions for 20 percent of your grade. When you meet with Sharon, she tells you that she will need you to explain with examples related to her bakery "because I'm not good at theory." She presents your group with the following question:

Task

1. Define performance and explain how this term relates to her employees.?
2. Evaluate why all of this is so complicated for Sharon.
3. Explain what kinds of performance we should be measuring and why?
