After reading these articles, find a news article online reporting on any social issue or topic of interest. These topics can be related to mental health, homelessness, violence, education, criminal justice, etc. They can also be related to the pandemic if that sparks your interest. The article must cite/discuss scientific evidence.

Post the citation and 1 to 2 paragraph response using the following questions as a guide:

o How does the article describe who conducted the research and their credentials, the source of the study?

o What stood out for you from the a) research and findings; and b) conclusions or recommendations from the authors?

o Does this match recommendations and implications/suggestions you may have seen from other sources?

o What differences can you identify between the news sources you read and peer-reviewed articles we have been reading this semester? What are the advantage and disadvantages of both types of reporting?

o Have you learned anything about how you will evaluate the credibility of the science reported in news sources?

o How does the article you chose relate to the required readings for this week about media reporting medical studies and/or recommendations for avoiding misinformation in the media?

o What questions came up or remain in response to this exercise?

The response must include a reference list. Using Times New Roman 12 pnt font, double-space, one-inch margins, and APA style of writing and citations.
