Estimating diffusion coefficient by wilke-lee equation

Assignment:

Q1. Larson (1964) measured the diffusivity of chloroform in air at 298 K and 1 atm and reported its value as 0.093 cm2/s. Estimate the diffusion coefficient by the Wilke-Lee equation and compare it with the experimental value.

Q2. (a) Estimate the diffusivity of naphthalene (C10H8,) in air at 303 K and 1 bar. Compare it with the experimental value of 0.087 cm2/s reported in Appendix A. The normal boiling point of naphthalene is 491.1 K, and its critical volume is 413 cm3/mol.

(b) Estimate the diffusivity of pyridine (C5,H5,N) in hydrogen at 318 K and 1 atm. Compare it with the experimental value of 0.437 cm2/s reported in Appendix A. The normal boiling point of pyridine is 388.4 K, and its critical volume is 254 cm3/mol.

(c) Estimate the diffusivity of aniline (C,H,N) in air at 273 K and 1 atm. Compare it with the experimental value of 0.061 cm2/s (Guilliland, 1934). The normal boiling point of aniline is 457.6 K, and its critical volume is 274 cm3/mol.
