Assignment task:

Brinegar, K. M., Harrison, L., & Hurd, E. (2019). Equity & cultural responsiveness in the middle grades. Information Age Publishing.

After engaging with the content and resources provided, students will periodically submit a reflection brief that discusses key takeaways and implications. Length of the reflection may vary, but anticipate 2-3 double spaced pages.

For Reflection 2, you will need to read the Brinegar et al. text- chapters 4, 5, and 6.

Questions for every reflection:

1. What are the main points of this reading (focus on concepts, ideas, and theme)? Note: when you have multiple readings or chapters, address this question for each section/reading/chapter. All the questions that follow can be discussed holistically; this is the only one that requires more of a "breakdown.

2. What was new to you, and did it change the way you think about or perceive things?

3. Was there anything you would like to explore further or find out more about?           

4. Describe at least one connection between the reading and topics from outside class (other classes, news stories you've seen, personal experience, etc.).
