Problem: Students will create a presentation that provides education for nurses about the traditions of a culture different than their own or the concerns of a marginalized population. The presentation will include an explanation of how to integrated these into the plan of care in order to provide competent, safe, and equitable care to the patient while meeting the cultural needs or the concerns for the identified population. Objectives: • To create an educational presentation demonstrating the student's ability to: • Recognize/Notice cues and information about cultural differences and concerns within marginalized populations that will impact their needs when receiving perinatal care • Analyze and interpret the cues/information appropriately and respond by identifying nursing interventions (actions) that will support these patients during this time. • Develop a professionally designed educational presentation (media is student's choice) with appropriate citations and references as needed.
