This week you will reflect on your experience writing your Evidence-Based Practice paper. Reflection on your work is important when it comes to
EBP for a number of reasons. First, it allows you to bridge the gap between theory and practice. Next, it allows you to better develop and understand your expertise as a nurse. Third it causes you to delve deeply into the lessons you've learned and how to apply those to your practice. Last, reflection gives you a pathway toward ensuring your care remains centered on the patient.
EBP is also part of the AACN Baccalaureate essentials, which you are expected to master as part of this program.
For this reflection, consider the following questions as it relates to your EBP paper:
What did I learn?
What were the gaps in my knowledge about this area before I researched and wrote the paper?
What additional knowledge do I feel I need in order to handle this sort of a situation or issue?
How will what I learned from this project change how I handle a real-world application of this research?
