During early embryonic development in chordate animals

During early embryonic development in chordate animals a notochord forms and shortly thereafter neurulation occurs in ectoderm tissue located directly above the notochord. How could this induction of neurulation by notochord occur? Discuss one or more possible ways it could happen. This is a pretty hypothetical question -- you don't have to know the "right" mechanism, but you need to discuss things that could cause neurulation.
