Anatomy of script discussion

Q1. What stood out to you about the parts of the scripts this week? Why did it stand out to you? What stood out to me were the mechanics of keeping in line with a books or storyline structure. Is there really a difference in turning a book into a script? If a script is written from the well fleshed out storyline of a book then all of the elements listed in the breakdown of a script are necessary. I've always been one to believe that in my mind, as I read a book I should, in some way, be watching a movie. I should be able to see the surroundings, smell the flowers through their description, distinguish characters, by the way, they are written. So for me, the structure of a script is not or should not be hard.

Q2. Do you think a script's structure is easier or more difficult to adapt/edit for an oral interpretation? explain your answer. If a performer has taken the time to thoroughly go through a script, and or the book, it was adapted from then hopefully they will have the tools necessary to deliver a perfect oral interpretation. What would also make this easy is if the performer kept in mind the setting and mood of the piece.

Q3. What is the most interesting part of this type of literature to you? explain your answer. The most interesting part of this type of literature\plays is to see something I have read come to life.

Q4. Do you think an audience responds differently to this type of literature than to others? Why or why not? An audience most definitely will respond differently to this type of literature because it is in person. In your face. All the elements that made this rendition your favorite you now have the opportunity to see it played out in front of you.
