Do you think a leader should focus on level one or should

1. Would like to see some discussion about the not so positive impact on leadership and thoughts about how we as leaders might address. Please share your experiences in your workplace (past or present).

2. Clawson (2012) stated that leadership "is about affecting human behavior" which occurs at three levels. Level one is the visible behavior. Level 2 are the conscious thoughts. Level three are the "values, assumptions, beliefs, and expectations (VABEs)" which are semiconscious (p. 26). On the other hand, in today's workplaces, multi-ethnicities are the norm. Often times, I hear people complain about others, because other people think or act different. What do you think a leader (or organization) should do when he or she has subordinates with different cultural backgrounds and having different beliefs and way of doing things? Do you think a leader should focus on level one, or should he (or she) deal with level 2 and 3, even though some people may think this is unethical (Clawson, 2012)?
