Assignment task: You are working as a summer student intern at the KPU Procurement department.
Background:
KPU Procurement Department procures goods and services for the institution. For example, KPU purchases a broad range of goods such as textbooks, information technology hardware and software, mechanical and electrical supplies, small tools, fleet, furniture, fixtures and equipment. KPU outsources services such as audit, professional consultant, engineering services, architectural services, general contractors, mechanical and electrical contractors, and other trades from time to time. These goods and services provide a wide range of services to support the faculties and departments for their ongoing operational and capital activities.
Assignment Requirements:
KPU Procurement department is currently on schedule to create educational training material for the upcoming lunch-and-learn session. The attendees are the internal business units' managers. In particular, the training material will entail the following four (4) key items. They are:
1. Supply chain;
2. Procurement; and
3. Outsourcing/Supplier Selection.
The Director of Procurement, your direct supervisor, has asked you to assist in preparing the training material, which examples will need to be included.
