Discussion about customer evaluations-competitor analysis


Problem:

Although they remain on top, it is a struggle to do so every year. Sony is known for being innovative with their products. This sometimes leads to massive failures that they are forced to accept and move on from. The business world keeps spinning and is an unforgiving environment. The only thing that they could implement to ensure their success continues is more risk management. Innovation is great and needed, but taking the time to sit back and review more before taking the plunge on new ventures and or technological pursuits could lower those risks substantially. Maybe reevaluating the need for so much marketing and putting some of those funds into customer evaluations and competitor analysis. With big names such as Samsung, Panasonic, and many others as competitors, they can't afford a costly flop like they could when they were first starting up in the 1940's. Overall, I think if Sony does their best to stick to the strategies, they have laid out for themselves and push for more risk management in their company, they will be around for a very long time.
