• Scripps offers so many benefits to their employees such as tuition reimbursement, pet insurance and employee bonuses. Nursing school or any college for that matter isn't cheap and can really add up. By offering tuition assistance, employees can continue their education and not have to worry about how much it's going to cost. People are really into their pets these days so by offering pet insurance they are saving the employee so much money! This shows that the company cared about all aspects of the employee's life. Giving employees bonuses when the hospital does well is also a great way to reward employees for doing a good job. The turnover rate for nurses is extremely high and yet all the things they have implemented in order to keep their employees seem to be working.

Nurses want to stay and they feel appreciated.

• The first step to managing diversity is to know what it means. Managing diversity is to simply manage a culturally diverse work environment by recognizing the characteristics common to specific groups of employees while dealing with such employees as individuals; supporting, nurturing, and utilizing their differences to the organizations advantage (DeNisi& Griffin, 2014). Some limit diversity to just gender or race when diversity is bigger than that. In order for a work environment to be diverse the employer must understand and value employee differences in order to build a more effective and profitable organization. Having a diverse work environment can give an organization a competitive edge in a global economy by facilitating understanding of other customs, cultures, and marketplace needs. Some strategies an organization can use to manage diversity are awareness building, skill building, and providing mentors. Diversity in my organizations attributes to competitiveness when doing business with our vendors/customers in other parts of the world. We are in constant communication with wineries all over the world and this keeps us aware of what the trends on in global markets. The diversity in my organization can be a conflict when there is a lack of understanding or sensitivity within the organization. It can create communication barriers and other problems.

This is causing some friction within the workforce. Before the tension escalates, you need to have a meeting to discuss the issue.

1. Propose a solution that will relieve friction in your company's age diverse workforce.
