Discuss the quantitative cyber quest

Discussion:Data Specification and Collection

The previous step of theory development helped you work out what questions to ask in order to address your issue. However, as explained back in the first week, analytics is about data-driven decision making, so you will need to answer those questions by gathering and analyzing the relevant data. This process of data gathering can be divided into two steps, the first of which is specifying as clearly as you can what kind of data you need and from what sources you need to gather them.

To prepare:

? Consider the public policy and administration issue you have been looking at since Week 4.

? Think about the type of data that would be useful to collect related to the variables and relationships identified.

With these thoughts in mind:

Post an explanation of 2-3 types of data that it would be beneficial to collect related to the public policy and administration issue you identified.

Explain where you might find appropriate data and any difficulties you would anticipate in looking for that data.

Quantitative Cyber Quest

Quantitative Cyber Quest (QCQ) is a series of challenges and fun process that allow the participants to showcase their knowledge in various fields of information security. Therefore, in the Quantitative Cyber Quest, I will address the issue of keeping up with the repair of school tablets. Tutors of brainy (not a real name) high school changed from the predominantly teacher-led mode of instructing to an engaging method of learning where students were given tablets. This move was a way of integrating technology in the institution. The central aim of QCQ will be to facilitate or ensure Information Technology is fully embraced in our learning institutions. While working on attaining the primary goal, it will be essential to determine the most effective types or brands of tablets for learning. Additionally, it is crucial to determine the level of basic IT skills that the tutors possess as the other goal variable.

When analyzing background information and variable goals, it will be vital to understanding where the institution is sourcing the tablets to know real suppliers and manufacturers of gadgets. With such information, it will be easy to advise the school on where they can get the best and durable gadgets that will offer maximum services. Secondly, it is essential for the tutors to have adequate training and skills in IT to guide well the students on handling and operating the gadgets (Yard, 2015). This advantage will eliminate the need for repair significantly. It will also be important to analyze the methods used to store the tablets. Bearing in mind that the school has a large number of students, it is obvious that the gadgets are stored in a common or central place. Weather conditions and presence of other elements like parasites contribute to malfunctioning and breakdowns of such gadgets. For instance, when the temperature is too high, it may cause dysfunctioning of some of the devices due to the sudden expansion of small interconnected wires and cords.

The Quantitative Cyber Quest will also require framing of questions that will effectively lead to the attainment of the expected data and information (Hailey, 2017). For this reason, I might frame some questions based on the actual number of teachers that have relevant training in IT or other Information Science fields. I might also frame other questions based on the conditions present in the places where the tablets are stored. Lastly, I could develop additional questions based on the criterion used to select companies for making supplies of tablets and other electronic gadgets within our learning institutions.
