In EDU622, you will explore the application and analysis of behaviorist, cognitivist, and constructivist learning theories as they are used by educational and training professionals. The first step in the assignment is to identify your own commitment to the theories as a candidate to the program. You will be required to read and acknowledge the Master of Education Candidate Expectations and Learning Guide provided. For the second step, using the AIU Library, Web resources, or you own personal connections, you will be asked to locate your state's professional educator code of ethics and provide a brief description of linkages (if any) between the code and the learning theories. Finally, for the third step of the assignment, you will role play an observation case scenario.

Step 2: Professional Educator Code of Ethics
- Using the AIU Library, Web resources, or your own connections, locate and review your state's professional educator code of ethics.
- Prepare a brief description of the linkages you perceive between your state's code of ethics and the 3 learning theories.
- Submit a copy of your state's code of ethics and your brief description as part of your final assignment.
Step 3: Role Play Scenario
You have been appointed as program director nd have responsibility for several instructional designers and course instructors. One of your jobs involves visiting classrooms from time to time and observing the classroom delivery by the instructors.
Complete the following:
- As an observing supervisor who is watching an instructor carry out a class exercise or activity, how would you tell that the instructor and students are using a behavioral, cognitive, or constructivist approach as the primary theory behind the learning activity?
- What characteristics of each theoretical area would you look for as observational markers?
- If your instructor asks you for more information on any of the three main theoretical areas, to which key articles or books from the AIU Library would you refer him or her to as touchstones for each theoretical area? Why?
