I. Research on Joseph Atkinson

II. Research report on Joseph Atkinson. Conduct research using Internet searches, Humber Library Discover Bar, Canadian Encyclopedia website and course readings/ resources (minimum of 3 credible sources are required). Final research report must present the following factual information:

i. Brief biographical information: Focus on key details, especially those that illuminate the leader's commitment to social justice and transformation. Details on their early family/work life that are significant to their leadership and advocacy commitment may be included.

ii. Key contributions to Canadian and/or Global social movements such as Child Care Advocacy Movements, Women's Movements, Indigenous Rights Movements, LGBTQ Movements, Disability Rights Movements, Human Rights Movements, Anti-Racist Movements and so on. This may include: demonstration of work that has sought to create societal change to benefit key stakeholders (i.e., children, families, the ECE profession, communities / society particularly as it relates to issues of diversity, inclusion, social justice, and the empowerment of equity seeking groups); Advocacy; Research projects the leader has undertaken; Authorship of notable articles, books, other writings, etc.

iii. Discuss the leadership style(s)/function(s) of your chosen leader/activist by making relevant references to the Ren-Etta Sullivan (2010) reading. Discuss the leader's social justice traits and characteristics by making relevant references to the Sykes (2014) reading from Week

III. Creative poster based on your research report and include intent references and references with conclusion Joseph Atkinson.
