Hello Everyone,
I will like to discuss the impact of dietary factors like saturated fat, cholesterol, sodium and added sugars on cardiovascular health. Cardiovascular health is highly influenced by diet quality. Diets that are rich in saturated fats and cholesterol can elevate low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol, which contributes to plaque buildup in arteries and increases the risk of atherosclerosis, myocardial infarction, and stroke (Afshin et al., 2021). I will like to add that excessive sodium intake promotes fluid retention and elevates blood pressure, a major modifiable risk factor for cardiovascular disease .High consumption of added sugars, particularly from sugar-sweetened beverages and processed foods, is also linked to obesity, insulin resistance, and systemic inflammation, which further compromise cardiovascular function (Hu et al., 2022).
Adopting a heart-healthy diet can significantly reduce these risks. Replacing saturated fats with unsaturated fats, such as those from olive oil, nuts, and fatty fish, helps improve lipid profiles (Mozaffarian, 2022). In addition, increasing fiber intake through fruits, vegetables, and whole grains supports healthy cholesterol levels and lowers cardiovascular risk, dietary modifications emphasize that small, consistent changes can meaningfully improve heart health over time. I don't have any question at this time. Need Assignment Help?
