To create Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound (SMART) goals for the selection of a school improvement project. My Topic: Enhancing classroom management: A topic might center on implementing specific behavior management techniques or establishing a positive classroom environment. I'm doing k-12.Must be two Smart Goals. Need Assignment Help?
Below is the example:
SMART Goal #1: Staff Retention
Specific: Reduce the annual turnover rate of staff in high-needs special education classrooms by improving job satisfaction, mentorship, and professional support.
Measurable: Decrease the turnover rate from 22% to 10% by the end of the 2025-2026 school year.
Achievable: Implement opportunities for monthly staff team building, peer mentorship, and additional supports for paraprofessionals targeted in areas focused on trauma or behavioral practices.
Relevant: Staff turnover interrupts student learning in high-needs special education classrooms, as many students perform tasks with an adult with whom they have built rapport. Staff also feel the effects of higher caseloads, more responsibilities, and inability to help train paraprofessionals while they are in stressful situations.
Time: Goal will be achieved by May 2026, with staff check-ins being conducted quarterly.
SMART Goal #2: Staff Motivation
Specific: Encourage staff motivation and commitment to our program in a high-needs special education classroom by improving workplace culture, establishing team building and mentorship programs, and offer recognition for a job well done.
Measurable: Increase the percentage of staff planning to return to their position in the next school year from 78% to 90% by an annual staff satisfaction survey.
Achievable: Implement strategies to establish a team-building and mentorship program, offer appreciation events to increase workplace culture, and allow staff the opportunity to communicate with the director/principals quarterly.
Relevant: Supporting staff with professional development relevant to what they need in their high-needs special education classroom to help reduce stressful classroom environments.
Time: Goal will be achieved by May 2026, with quarterly check-ins being conducted.
