Problem:
In my qualitative research, I take deliberate steps to ensure that the findings are accurate, well-supported, and meaningful. One way I do this is by focusing on credibility through multiple sources of data, such as interviews and written materials. Looking across different sources helps me identify patterns that appear consistently rather than relying on a single perspective. Current qualitative research emphasizes that using strategies such as triangulation helps ensure that results reflect participants' real experiences rather than the researcher's expectations (Ahmed, 2024). I also rely on semi-structured interviews with open-ended questions so participants can explain their views in their own words, thereby creating richer, more detailed data.
I also work to strengthen the dependability and confirmability of my research by following an organized and transparent analysis process. This includes systematically coding the data, comparing similar ideas, and developing themes while keeping notes that explain how analytic decisions were made. Documenting these steps helps demonstrate consistency in the research process and allows others to understand how conclusions were reached, which aligns with recommendations for qualitative rigor (Shenton, 2004). To remain grounded in the data, I regularly revisit participants' statements to ensure my interpretations are supported by their words. I address transferability by clearly describing the research context and methods so readers can judge whether the findings may be relevant to other settings.
