Discuss children and reading culture in the digital age

Assignment Task:

Review the two sources your peer shared in their initial post.

What perspectives are not yet represented in your peer's sources? What might your peer's audience think if those perspectives are not considered? Need Assignment Help?

The first article I found was "Children and Reading Culture in the Digital Age" (1) and the second was "Molecular and Neurobiological Imbalance from the Use of Technological Devices During Early Child Development Stages" (2).

My topic is: How is technology damaging the development of children? With my research question being: In the debate of whether or not technology like computers and phones are damaging the development of children, should children be reading more physical books than being on a computer? Both articles touch on how technology affects children but only one of these articles would I actually use. The first article (1) mentioned is very neutral when discussing children and reading culture in our modern age. They don't mention whether technology being used at a young age is good or bad, just stating that reading culture is important. For my topic this wouldn't be good to use other than to talk about reading culture and what that entails.

The second article (2) Is a better article to base off. This gives you a well-rounded view of why technology has had positive effects on the development of children and why most of the effects are negative when you don't limit screen time and the information given to them isn't educational. I would use this to show why children should have mostly physical books but also touch on the counter argument that technology has good benefits.\

Article (1) is good for the straightforward information of reading culture but not much past that, there was no good study on how this affects children within development. Article (2) gives a good rundown of all perspectives of technology and how it can affect early development.
