Discuss about the right to possess a weapon for self-defense

Problem 1: Large cities have serious problems with gangs and violent crimes.  Guns are often used in violent crimes and are an important feature of gang life.  Should these concerns outweigh the right to possess a weapon for self-defense?

Problem 2: Are some symbols so sacred that their protection should trump the First Amendment right to disrespect them?  If so, what symbols?  Who decides?  What are the risks of permitting that group to decide?

Problem 3: We studied several crimes against the public morality, sometimes called victimless crimes because they generally involve willing participants.  Which of the offenses in the are most likely to be repealed or found to be constitutionally invalid, similar to those that prohibited homosexual activity and were overturned?  Are these indications of a weakened morality in society, or could there be other reasons?
