• What argument do the authors make, what are the key messages of this article?
• What other literature and prior research is the article based on?
• What questions are they trying to answer?
• Have any data been collected, and if yes, what has been collected and how?
• What are the key findings that were produced?
• What conclusions do the authors draw from their work?
B) Your responses to and evaluation of the article. This may include responses to some of the following questions:
• How useful, interesting and important do you find the article? How relevant is it to practice and/or your own experiences of learning and teaching?
• What ways of thinking about learning and teaching (learning theories, paradigms, models) does this article remind you of?
• Is there evidence in the article about the authors' background, stance, assumptions or bias? How might this have affected their argument and conclusions?
• Are the conclusions the authors have reached justified? Are there any inconsistencies?
