Difference between personal values and cultural values

Discussion:

In your new position as a manager in a foreign nation, what systems will you want to put in place to make you more effective and enhance productivity? How will you respond when there is a small clash between your personal values and the cultural values of your new home?

PLEASE EXPLAIN WHY YOU AGREE WITH MY CLASSMATE RESPONSE TO THE ABOVE QUESTIONS? (A MININUM OF 125 WORDS)

CLASSMATE'S POST:

In order to enhance productivity, one should communicate effectively and efficiently. Without having an effective system of communication, there are difficulties in achieving goals and even functioning properly. Something that would need to be done would be to set up "meetings" to keep communications open between myself and my reports. It could be in the way of conference calls done every week or even monthly, depending on the need or the urgency of the project. Having that constant contact with employees helps them feel connected. Having good communication will help productivity because decisions can be made quickly if everyone has the appropriate information. Another item which would be put in place is job descriptions and an organizational chart. People need to be clear on what is expected of them, their job duties, and who they report to.

If there was a small clash between my personal values and the values of my new home, the first thing I would do would be to step back and remember where I am. I am no longer in my own culture and need to remember the new culture. I would need to research the problem and what caused it and try to find a solution. I would try to contact someone who may have been in the same situation I am in to get help.
