Did cultural differences set stage for sectional differences

Assignment task:

The societies that developed in New England and the South are different in many ways.  Did these cultural differences set the stage for the sectional differences that would define early American history?

In your paper, examine each colony's respective relationship to 3 of the following- the institution of slavery, how central religion was to their colony, the role of women, conflict or peace with the Native Americans, and social hierarchy, as in, who is at the top and why. This paper is a COMPARE AND CONTRAST assignment.

Set up the paper in your introduction by restating the prompt and what your body paragraphs will examine.  Your first body paragraph should be an analysis of the Jamestown colony. Keeping the same order of analysis your second body paragraph should be an investigation of the Puritan colony.  In your conclusion offer your opinion on how these factors did or did not led to the sectional differences we see in early American history. KEEP IT SIMPLE. Try to use at least 4 quotes. You may use outside sources in a bind, but the majority must come from the textbook.
