Developing a code of conduct

Developing a Code of Conduct:

An ethical code of conduct is also known as a code of professional responsibility. A code of ethics is a formal statement of what the organizational values are on certain issues. Sometimes the organization will employ a set of ethical codes based on certain situations such as conflicts of interest or acceptance of gifts.

As a result the Sarbanes-Oxley Act which went into effect in 2002 has provided some legislative and enforcement “muscle” to the nation’s regulators.
