The ultimate goal of reading is to comprehend. If there is a breakdown in fluency, there will be a breakdown in comprehension. Therefore, several strategies have been developed to improve fluency and comprehension. Many strategies can be taught in whole group and small groups to help amplify the learning possibilities of children.

i. Go online and choose a short story or fairy tale that would be appropriate for a Pre-K classroom. Copy the link and paste it at the beginning of the discussion board post.

ii. After reading the story, develop a set of questions that would prompt students to more thinking about the characters in the story and their relationships with one another.

iii. What are three comprehension questions you would use for this particular story?

iv. Share a strategy or strategies you would use in support of this story to enhance ?uency and build comprehension.
