Develop a new program for their agency based upon current

Research Paper General Guidelines

In this course, each student must submit a 3000-word minimum research paper. Students have two options for the research paper. Students must email the topic of their paper for approval by Sunday of Module 3. Failure to receive approval may result in a reduction in grade and the student completing a paper on an unacceptable topic.

Option 1

Students currently working in the corrections field can develop a new program for their agency based upon current validated research. The program must involve an evidence-based practice.

Students will provide an overview of the evidence-based program, benefits for the agency, costs, manpower resources needed, anticipated obstacles, and implementation plan. The plan should be sufficient enough to allow presentation to agency heads.

Students must receive professor permission for this option prior to starting.

Resource for option 1

• Bogue, B. (2004). Implementing evidence-based practice in community corrections: The principles of effective intervention.

Option 2

Students not working in the corrections field can identify one evidence-based practice found in the literature and develop a 3000-word minimum paper on the practice.

In the paper, students will locate and explore the existing research on the practice that validates and confirms it value and effectiveness.

You should include any research against the practice. The student must also contact their local community corrections office to determine if they have implemented any evidence-based practices. The student should incorporate local evidence-based practice efforts into their paper.
