Determine the volume of methanol formed in the answer

It has been proposed that methanol (CH3OH) be considered as the replacement for the gasoline as the major fuel for transportation in this country because of its high combustion effectiveness. Another reason is that methanol can be made easily (cheaply) from heating the coal with steam passing at high temperature:

            CO(g) + 2H2(g) -->CH3OH(l)

1. When 74.5 grams of CO is mixed with 12.0 grams of H2, determine which is the limiting reagent?

2.  Explain how much of which reactant will be left after the reaction is completed?

3. Explain how much methanol should be produced after the reaction is completed?

4. Determine the product yield if 80.3 grams of methanol is actually formed.

5. Determine the volume of methanol formed in the answer (D) above. The density of methanol is 0.7914 g/mL. A small car of of 4- cylinder engine averages 24 miles per gallon in typical city driving.
