Consider the reaction: H2 (g) + I2 (g) 2 HI (g)    Kp = 92.6 at 600 K

a) In a mixture that consists of 0.70 atm of HI and 0.002 atm eachof H2 and I2 at 600 K, will there be any net reaction? If so, will HI be consumed or formed?

b) A flask is sealed at 600 K with partial pressures of H2 = 1.98atm and I2 = 1.71 atm. The gases react to form HI according to the equation above. Determine the partial pressure of each gas at equilibrium.
