Determine angular velocity and angular acceleration of rod


The slider-crank mechanism shown is an idealization of an automobile crank shaft, connecting rod and piston. The length of the crank throw rBAis 75 mm,, and the crank shaft AB is rotating at a constant rate of 4800 rpm. At the instant shown, the angular position of the crank shaft AB is q = 70o.

The length of the connecting rod rBCis 175 mm.

Determine

a. The angular velocity and angular acceleration of the connecting rod and

b. The velocity and acceleration of the piston
