505 Army Base Workshop (IndianArmy) May-July 2014 -

  • Undertook various testing processes to evaluate performance characteristics of high HP engines.
  • Secondary cooling circuit was designed for T-72 and T-90 Tank along with audio visual warning to prevent engine overheating and explosion.

IIT-Bombay May-July 2015 -

Study of Copper Tin (Cu-Sn) Interdiffusion bonding and intermetallic compound (IMC)

  • Simulated the time required to form IMC and the Cu-Sn ratio for optimal hermetic sealing.

Micromachining

  • Identified components from various sources and assembled Electro-Chemical Micro Machining setup.
  • Experiments were conducted to create surface features and holes of 300µm diameter with aspect ratio greater than two in Aluminium.

Formal Projects -

Hostile Object Detection and Tracking August-December 2014 -

  • Designed an electro-mechanical system to protect sensitive areas from hostile threats.
  • Algorithms were developed to predict the motion of hostile object and plot the kill shot.

Study of Ballistic Materials and their Properties with Focus on Composites January-May 2015

  • Study of recent developments in the field of Ballistic Materials.
  • Extensive literature survey and compilation in a single document.
  • Studied various properties in order to provide theoretical background for new innovations in design.

Investigation of Minimum Film Fluid Thickness of Lubricants for turning operation August-November 2015

  • Numerical analysis and formulation of minimum fluid film thickness developed in pin-on-disk type instrument.
  • Experiments were carried out to verify the same.

Testing and Designing of new Biocompatible Biocomposites August-December 2015

  • Fabricated short length coir fiber reinforced thermoplastic (PE, PP, PLA, ABS) polymer of different percentage by weight composition and fiber lengths using compression bonding.
  • Conducted tensile tests to determine optimum configuration for maximum strength.

Undergraduate Thesis

Study of Nano-material dimensional effects on thermal properties of heat storage materials for thermal energy storage application.

  • Create a mathematical model to simulate thermal conductivity, thermal diffusivity, latent heat, solid-liquid interface movement, specific heat, Brownian motion and aggregation of pure PCM and PCM embedded with nanoparticles.
  • Prepare, characterize and measure the thermo-physical properties including thermal conductivity, thermal diffusivity, specific heat, latent heat capacity, phase change temperature, thermal stability and reliability of the pure and nano-based heat storage materials.

Position of Responsibility Baja SAE India 2015 (Indore, India)

Head of Powertrain Subsystem

  • Baja is an internationally recognized collegiate challenge to design, build and race an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) to withstand the harshest elements of rough terrain. The event is conducted by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) India.
  • Was selected for Baja Aptitude test and cleared with distinction.

CanSat 2015 (Texas, USA)

Vice-Captain and Head of Mechanical Subsystem Design

CanSat is an international terrestrial satellite design-build-launch competition sponsored by NASA, American Astronautical Society (AAS). It involves an end-to-end life cycle of a complex engineering project.

We scored 98.25% in the Preliminary Design Review (PDR) and 97.88% for the Critical Design Review.

Among 59 international teams, we were ranked 10th at the end of PDR and 11th at the end of CDR.

ABU Robocon 2015 (Pune, India) Head of Mechanical Subsystem Design

Robocon is an Asian Oceanian College robot competition organized by Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union.

In the competition robots compete to complete a task. The task for this year was 'Robominton-Badminton Robot Game'.

Fabricated two robots capable of playing standard doubles badminton.
