Your Library is presently offering access to the Internet for its subscribers on fee paying basis. Subscribers should make a booking for each slot of 1 hour in advanced and log book is employed for this purpose. A fee of Rs 50. is charged per hour.
Staff members also have access when the computers are idle and they as well have to make an entry in the log book. However, access in free for staff members. Over numerous months, the data has been gathered in log book. Now the administration of library is facing lots of problem to examine the data. Since you’re acquainted with the creation of small desktop databases, you’ve been asked to design a database to store the above data.
Required:
Question 1: State all three (3) problems which the administration might be asking (3 queries) and for which it will take a lot of time to get answer from log book.
Question 2: Provide the following for database design:
• Tables to be used
• The field names, data type and size of each field in table
• The relationship between each table
Also point out whether a field is a primary or foreign key.
