Description of a study that incorporates the idea

Please assist me with the assignment.

Research Proposal Topic:

Students need to select and present their own researchable topic for the research proposal in this course.

Complete exercises 1-9 on page 76 in the text to help you select a topic. Then, number 10 should be the topic and the problem statement for the topic that you have chosen for your research proposal and are submitting for approval by the course professor. Exercises 1-10 should be completed in a word document and submitted through the link provided in Unit I.

Example of a Problem Statement can be found on p.43 - Students need to identify a very specific problem within the stated topic. Do not let that problem be too broad (narrow it down to a specific problem that is researchable). Present that problem in a general statement about the specific need for the study. Why is the problem important enough to study? Estimated length - one paragraph.

These are questions from page 76 from the book.

Question 1. Make a list of ten research topics that you would find interesting to pursue. These topics can be any topics dealing with education or psychology which you might glean from newspaper, radio and television news, magazine, research journals and even over board conversation. Rank these ideas by levels of interest and for each of the top five write one sentence explaining why it appeals to you.

Question 2. Take the idea that you ranked no.1 above and do the following:

a) Write a one paragraph description of a study that incorporates the idea.
b) List the steps you could take in reviewing the specific literature relevant to the topic.
c) From this idea, generate three more questions derived from the original questions or idea.

Question 3. Use the idea that you ranked no.2 above and do the following:

a) Locate a related reference from a journal and write out the complete citation.
b) Locate an abstract from the study that focuses the topic.

c) The number of articles in each journal and if there is any similarity in the topic ares covered within each of the journals.
d) How often the journal is published and other information about its editorial policies (eg. guidelines, features)

Question 6. Select any topic that you are interested in and use three different search engines to obtain online information. How do the result differ? Which one gave you the most interesting and useful information?
How might you revise your research terms to get the same degree of usefulness from other search engines?

Question 7. Find three abstracts from the recent research journals. For each abstract identify the following:

a) Purpose
b) The hypothesis
c) The type of study (correlation, experimental)
d) The conclusion
