Problem

Make short lesson in the form of a digital presentation, video, or another virtual learning platform such as EdPuzzle or Nearpod. The lesson should be appropriate for a chosen grade-band (K-3) and include the following components:

A. Explain how students can obtain equitable access to digital learning tools and resources across a school or school district to meet their learning needs.

B. Describe the social and cultural opportunities or challenges that may occur when students use digital tools in and as an extension of the classroom.

C. Explain best practices for students' ethical, safe, and legal use of digital tools while expanding awareness of social and cultural diversity across a school or school district. Describe how these best practices promote the Christian worldview.

D. Discuss how students and families can use technology for civic engagement and to address changes to improve their communities.

E. Identify at least two digital resources or tools that allow students to connect with others, in synchronous and asynchronous learning environments. Describe how each can be implemented in a safe and responsible manner.

F. Discuss strategies to support the social and emotional development of students in the midst of cyberbullying.

G. Questions to check for student understanding. These may be included directly in the presentation or created separately as an online activity and linked.

H. Instructor notes to help facilitate the discussion and guide teachers towards a shared vision. Within the notes, align information with ISTE Standards for Students.
