Essay Prompt
In each week of the course, except week 5, you will submit a written homework on current management and/or organizational issues. This write-to-learn homework will expect the student to relate course concepts to real-world examples and to examine the relevance of management concepts and theories in management practice. The instructions for the homework are as follows:
• Find an article (published after January 1, 2010) from any popular press (Harvard Business Review, Wall Street Journal, Business Week, Fortune, Forbes, Economist, and others) that addresses or relates to a concept or theory pertinent to this course, preferably a topic within the current week.
• In the body of the essay, answer the following prompts: (i) Describe the scenario, situation, or issue in your own words (e.g., How do you hire and retain good employees?). (ii) Identify the concept or theory in the article (e.g., see "War on Talent" in Principles of Management, ch. 16.4). (iii) Describe how the concept or theory is utilized in this particular case.
Format your homework according to the give formatting requirements:
• The answer must be using Times New Roman font (size 12), double spaced, typed, with one-inch margins on all sides.
• The response also includes a cover page containing the student's name, the title of the homework, the course title, and the date. The cover page is not included in the required page length.
• Also include a reference page. The references and Citations should follow APA format. The reference page is not included in the required page length.
