Describe the relational and cognitive-behavioral approaches

Problem: Help me respond to this post

When looking at the different types of sex therapy, the relational and cognitive-behavioral approaches stood out as being the most appealing. Iasenza's (2020) relational model focuses on changing sexual narratives within the couple's relationship. It shows that sexual problems aren't just personal issues, but also relational problems that are rooted in how people talk to each other, are intimate, and make sense of the world. This model makes sense because it takes into account both emotional and relational factors instead of just looking at sexual problems in terms of physical or behavioral symptoms. Additionally, cognitive-behavioral models (McCarthy, 1989) offer an organized way to find and change harmful thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors that lead to sexual dysfunctions. When couples change how they think and do behavioral exercises together, they get useful tips and chances to grow closer in their relationship. Masters and Johnson's sensate focus is another model still used today, as Weiner and Avery-Clark explain. Sensate focus exercises help couples get closer by letting them touch each other without expecting anything in return. This lowers performance anxiety while also making the pair feel closer. The good thing about these models is that they are both useful and deep in relationships. They teach skills while discussing the emotional and systemic parts of sexuality. The cognitive-behavioral framework and the sensate focus model are the ones. Need Assignment Help?
