Discussion Post: Healthcare Needs of a Specific Minority Group
Purpose
The Course Outcomes covered this week are below.
o Communicate effectively with culturally diverse individuals, families, and organizations.
o Perform a culturally competent nursing assessment.
Task
Each of our communities is comprised of groups that we consider minorities.
a) Name and describe the healthcare needs of a minority group in your community/city.
b) Describe the characteristics of the group and opportunities you see for improving the health of the group.
c) How can you use your enhanced communication skills to share your concerns with the "powers that be" in your community to improve their healthcare status?
The response must include a reference list. One-inch margins, double-space, Using Times New Roman 12 pnt font and APA style of writing and citations.
