Discussion Post: Chain Of Command
The following questions relating to organizational structures:
• Describe the organizational principle known as the chain of command. Do you believe a chain of command is necessary for a law enforcement agency and explain why or why not?
• Describe the unity of command principle and explain the difference between the chain of command and unity of command. How do you believe these two concepts should work together within a law enforcement organization and what happens if, let's say, the unity of command is broken?
