Intentional teaching strategy- Acknowledge and encourage
• Describe an interaction you had using your intentional teaching strategy. Include objective, descriptive details of the context along with what was done and said by those involved.
• Analyze the interaction considering why you think the child(ren) responded as they did and why you chose the actions you did or things you said. What were your thought processes or conclusions at that time? Why was this an interaction you wanted to talk about?
• Reflect on this interaction. Make sense of the experience after time has passed. - What was effective or positive about your choices? What do you understand about yourself or the child(ren) now that you didn't realize at the time? What would you do differently (no matter how well it went)? What other strategies could you have tried or would you like to try.
• How would you like to build on these strategies in future weeks?
