The name of the community centre is (Delta Family Resources Centre)
The purpose of this assignment is to give learners an opportunity to research a community organization that is working to address the social determinants of the health of children, families and community members. Through background research and a site visit, you will deepen your understanding of how partnerships and collaboration with people, services and programs can build strong communities that nurture children, youth, and families.
The format of the assignment will also provide learners with the opportunity to learn, practice and refine their digital fluency skills using tools and technology as a method of sharing information with others. Humber Library's Idea Lab will support students by offering free digital workshops and tutorials scheduled throughout the semester.
You will document your final learnings on a website that you will create using the website builder identified in your proposal. Your website should in no way mirror the organization's website and it must include a note on each page that reads (this website is a student project; not the organization's official website). Your website and all the documents/content included must be fully accessible to your professor.
The website that you create should include your own narrative (story) and reflect your experience completing this assignment. The following details must also be included:
A. A reflection on your learnings and overall experience completing this assignment.
B. An overview of the organization's programs, services, initiatives, and facts about the neighbourhood/community they serve. Include ideas for how the ECE sector could collaborate with the organization to strengthen community bonds.
C. Describe how the organization builds community capacity. How do they build on the strengths/assets of the participants or community members?
D. Incorporate any feedback received on your infographic and upload the final version to your website.
