Discussion Post: Interacting With Diverse Populations
Despite the perception that there is a clash of cultures-as represented in the media, proclaimed by politicians, or discussed on social media-you may encounter diverse but integrated cultures more regularly than you realize. In the military, different cultures integrate into a unique military culture, just as diverse cultures integrate into the unique culture of your town or city. In this Discussion, you use a similar understanding to predict how different cultures might integrate into a military social work setting.
Post: (2 to 3 pages)
o Describe an interaction in a social work setting with a client who is from a different culture than you.
- The interaction may be one that you have had or that you have read about.
o Identify characteristics about the client's culture that you predict may be influenced by or changed within military culture.
The response must include a reference list. Using one-inch margins, double-space, Times New Roman 12 pnt font and APA style of writing and citations.
