Assignment task: Though not all of us experience precarity in the same way, at the same time, or to the same degree, we can all of us understand it as a condition of insecurity - and in the most dire sense, a condition of living in or through crisis. Such conditions of insecurity or crisis can be caused by any number of factors related to the economy, late-stage capitalism, and positions of inequality due to disadvantages and/or discriminatory practices brought about by social and cultural differences (race, culture, ethnicity, language, gender, sexual orientation, physical and mental disability, health issues, education, etc.)
1) Think about the ways in which either you or someone in your family, friend group, workplace, school, etc. has experienced conditions of precarity.
2) List and describe any New Television programs or series we've watched/discussed in this course (or ones you've watched on your own) shows you've watched on your own) which address conditions of precarity suffered by members of our society?
3) In your document, offer a few suggestions about the ways in which, in the current media offerings, including and especially the 'New Television', can more widely address the situations which create and exacerbate conditions of precarity - particularly with a view toward how it may affect us all at one time or another.
